Meshcore

What is Meshcore?

MeshCore is a simple, secure, off-grid, mesh communications app.
It’s powered by long range LoRa radios and the open source MeshCore firmware.
You can send text messages to other mesh nodes that are in radio range without the internet.
This means it still works even when WiFi, Cellular and Starlink are down.
By using solar powered repeater nodes, will increase the messaging range.
If you use more than one solar node, and they are all placed up on high points, it increases the coverage, so potentially covering your whole town / city.

Warning

Please be aware that when building or assembling these kits.
DO NOT TURN ON the device without the Antenna attached.
This can damage the unit, turning it on without an antenna.

Building Your Own Repeater on Meshcore?

This video above is a lot different to the latest solar light currently being sold at bunning. It only has one 3,7v battery and has a small circuit board. Watch the video to show you what to expect and tips when modifing the solar light.

What's Happening in the future?

Watch this space for Reticulum.
Reticulum is coming...

From what I have read on Reticulum, it is the same as Meshcore but using voice /data that uses RNode Firmware.
This is the open firmware that powers RNode devices.
An RNode is an open, free and unrestricted digital radio transceiver. It enables anyone to send and receive any kind of data over both short and very long distances.
RNodes can be used with many different kinds of programs and systems, but they are especially well suited for use with Reticulum.
RNode is not a product, and not any one specific device in particular. It is a system that is easy to replicate across space and time, that produces highly functional communications tools, which respects user autonomy and empowers individuals and communities to protect their sovereignty, privacy and ability to communicate and exchange data and ideas freely.

Very interesting...
